The first photo of China’s new carrier, formerly known as Varyag, comes from a satellite picture taken on December 8th by US company DigitalGlobe.
The satellite was orbiting above the Yellow Sea when it took the picture, which, along with information of the Shi Lang’s current sea trials, allowed experts to ID the ship.
Earlier this summer everyone was speculating why China needed an aircraft carrier, with the US leading the charge on demanding explanation.
It appears those fears were for naught, however, as the above picture proves the Shi Lang is some kind of aircraft carrier for ants. We demand it be at least three times that size!
