Death Cab For Cutie – not always this angry-looking
Whether you take your indie pop rock West coast from your dorm room or East coast from your grungy Brooklyn apartment, Shanghai has something for all of you come this spring! Following the enormous names at Black Rabbit last year, Split Works keeps hauling them in for 2012 – this time in the form of US indie sensations Death Cab for Cutie and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.
NYC band The Pains of Being Pure at Heart will play MAO Livehouse on February 24. Tickets are only 150RMB and Boys Climbing Ropes will be the openers. POBPAH formed in 2007 and took off two years later with their self-titled album release. Lots of guitars and sugary vocals, they’re pretty hard not to like. Check them out below.
Death Cab for Cutie, one of the biggest indie rock names on the planet, will be playing JUE festival this year. Takes us straight back to freshman year of college. Looks like the date will be March 9 in Shanghai (Beijing on the 10th), but we’re still waiting to hear what venue.
