Is it just us, or does Kim Jong-un bear more than a passing resemblance to Üter Zörker, the German confectionery-addicted character from The Simpsons? The great tradition of ridiculous North Korean Leader Hair continues!
Though the similarities are mostly size and coiffure-based, North Korea’s Cute Leader also did time as a fish-out-of-water international student, just like Üter, the rotund German exchange student classmate of Bart Simpson (catchphrase: “Don’t make me run, I’m full of chocolate!”).
And in an even eerie-er coincidence, Üter was reconfigured as a Swiss exchange student in the German version of The Simpsons (Kim did his Swiss boarding school time in Bern). Conspiracy theorists, begin scouring old Simpsons seasons immediately!
Üter himself is based on the Augustus Gloop character from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, who famously bought the farm after drowning in a river of chocolate. Homer likely would’ve paid for the chance to go out the same way.
Pity the poor stylist who thought this hairdo was a good idea. They can expect a swift sentence to a labor camp if the Outstanding Leader ever gets wind of his haircut making him look more than a little Üter-esque.
And in case you’ve been living under a rock with no internet access, behold the meme-worthiness of Kim pater & fils! Not content to let his father have all the looking at things fun, a newish Kim Jong-un looking at things blog has been scuttling around the internet this month, and not to mention a recent Hungry Kim Jong-un meme to boot.
