Ram and deer to marry at Yunnan zoo on Valentine's Day

ram-deer-love.jpg
It's beginning to look like China's animal parks are subtly attempting to lead the way in liberalizing attitudes towards nontraditional relationships in the motherland. Not two months after Harbin allowed two gay penguin parents to adopt, now the Yunnan Wild Animal Park is promoting interracial marriage! To celebrate the love between "Long Hair" (长毛) the ram and "Junko" (纯子) the deer, they will hold a wedding ceremony on Valentine's Day next week.

Junko and Long Hair's relationship first came to light late last fall, when pictures of them getting jiggy with it went viral on Weibo.

The park claims they want to use this event to promote acceptance of interracial marriage (we'll refrain from questioning the comparison of two races wedding with the unnatural mating of two completely different species.) We're just happy the two get to make their love official and stop living in sin.

laughable...people can tell whatever stories they want with these animals that further their causes and agenda. but just make sure both are properly fed and cared for.

Actually, it's not "interracial", it shud be "inter-species" marriage. Even though both animals are even toed ungulates, they are from different families, with the sheep belonging to the Bovid family which includes goats and takins etc..
