Woman dies after walking off a bridge while texting in Chongqing

We often thought it wasn't the best idea to text and walk at the same time, and now we have the cautionary tale to prove it. A 45-year-old woman died recently after walking off a 20-meter bridge onto a river bank in the Jiangjing district of Chongqing, apparently
because she was distracted by the text messages on her cell phone.

Though the bridge lacked protective railing, the woman reportedly was accompanied by two people close to her, though it's unconfirmed whether they were friends or relatives.

Perhaps they were too busy texting each other to keep track of where they were going?

Maybe a mapping app to help cell phone users walk on bridges without falling off needs to be developed.

So text and walk at your own risk! Or at least wear a helmet or something. The last thing China needs is its own localized shanzhai Darwin Awards for individuals who perish in the stupidest fashion imaginable.
