This Royal Asiatic Society’s regular book meeting this week will be discussing “Nothing to Envy”, author Barbara Demick’s account of North Korea during the unsettling period between the reigns of Kim Jong-il and Kim Il-sung. The world-renowned journalist herself will be at the meeting to take questions and discuss her experience writing the book. She is currently the Beijing bureau chief for the LA Times. Definitely worth checking out!
