Conan O’Brien has responded to Da Peng’s apology, and even gifts the Sohu talk show host with a new opening sequence! Coco (not very convincingly) admits that he feels bad for making Da Peng feel bad, and even trots out his own “There Was No Need to Apologize, Sorry for Making You Feel Bad” dance in response to Da Peng’s Sorry Dance.
We really hope the beef continues. The good-natured ribbing between the comedians, just like diss tracks in hip-hop, makes for pretty decent television. “You’re just a small online talk show in China”? Oooooh, that might leave a mark.
For the record, the ripping-off of Conan is more than a China shanzhai story, since comedians have been known to plagiarize each other in the past in pretty shameless fashion. Paging Dennis Leary: the ghost of Bill Hicks awaits you on Judgment Day!
