Da Peng has now responded to Conan’s response to his original apology by dressing up in a three-piece suit, breaking out a “Niubility” band, and redecorating his set to emulate the ginger-haired Harvard grad. We have to admit, we’re a little impressed with how Da Peng dug in heels and refused to shrink from the spotlight, after Coco threw the first comedy punch last week.
Da Peng even admits that he almost fell in love with Conan thanks to his generosity, and considers him to be his soulmate. He ends the sketch by adding, “We’re still missing an end credits sequence!”, which just goes to show that Republicans are right about the futility of being generous.
The Conan-Da Peng feud doesn’t quite rank with the book’s worth of bad blood that developed between Conan and Jay Leno, so hopefully we might eventually see Coco inviting Da Peng to New York for some Linsanity and Broadway musicals, or Da Peng could even take Conan out for an evening of karaoke and exotic food shenanigans in Beijing. The forces that be who control TBS and Sohu, please make this happen!
