The Canberra Raiders have expressed interest in playing an exhibition game in China.
Australian Football League (AFL) National Rugby League (NRL) club, which just signed a two-year sponsorship deal with Chinese electronic brand Huawei, confirmed yesterday that they’re hoping to stage the pre-season game in January or February of next year.
It won’t be the first Australian sports league to come to China. In 2010, the AFL became the first Aussie league to hold a game in China as part of the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. Over 6,000 people attended the match between the Melbourne Demons and Brisbane Lions.
