Road rage normally occurs on highways, not school parking lots. But that’s exactly what happened in Changsha late last month, when an entitled Porsche driver arranged for an entry gate to be crushed after security refused to let him inside.
Surveillance cameras captured the driver pulling up to the Changsha l Lake Experimental School on June 28.The luxury car, painted deep blue, was not permitted to enter.
Apparently, at some point, he decided to take drastic action. But he didn’t use his own vehicle (refusing to scratch the expensive fenders, no doubt).
Instead a forklift tractor rolled up moments later, picking up speed and crashing head long, shovel first, into the gate. In no time, the Porsche driver had ample room to drive through.
The forklift driver, wearing a striped shirt, was apparently an employee of the Porsche driver. Police say the latter fellow was not a parent of one of the school’s students, but rather a property developer that had a dispute with the facility’s admin. He’s been reported as saying that because it was a school holiday, he felt his battering ram tactics would not affect the students. Quite considerate of him.
There’s no official word on what, if any, charges have been laid. Few prosecutors have used forklifts in their opening arguments or as evidence, no doubt.
