The Diaoyu Islands are an uninhabited wasteland, with no GDP and no income to speak of. Its disappearance would not have any impact whatsoever on any country or anyone in the world. But politicians and diplomats have realised this is a great opportunity to create something out of nothing, to gain access to taxpayer money, to manufacture events and to appear busy. Actually, they only have their own professional interests at heart. This is what they do for a living. The day they start truly caring for people is the day we will have peace on earth.
