Guangzhou’s Yuexiu District has released the results of its official investigation into the alleged physical assault on a China Southern Airlines flight attendant by one of its officials. It found that while a dispute did in fact occur, Fang Daguo, member of the Communist Party Standing Committee of Yuexiu District of Guangdong and political commissar of the district’s armed forces department, did not physically hit the stewardess.
The report, according to Caijing, said that Fang, together with his wife and child, were late to board the plane, and the dispute arose over the placement of Fang’s suitcases. While the altercation eventually turned physical, at no point did Fang physically hurt the flight attendant.
“After the flight reached Guangzhou, both sides went to the airport police station for investigation and reconciliation,” added the report. “Fang Daguo and his family members proactively extended apology to the other side. Also, there was no incident in which military cars were used to threaten the air stewardess. Now, both sides have achieved reconciliation.”
We guess that settles it then.
Show’s over. Move along.
