Hu Jun, the driver involved in the disturbing double hit-and-run of two-year-old toddler Yueyue last October, has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years of jail. He is being charged with “involuntary homocide.”
Xinhua News is reporting that this sentence was reduced due to the fact that Hu not only turned himself into the police but also paid for part of the toddler’s medical fees.
Little Yueyue was run over by a van outside a hardware market. A few minutes later, she was then run over by another driver. The entire event was captured on a CCTV camera, proving that despite witnessing the entire event, several bystanders chose to ignore the injured toddler. She later died from her injuries.
