Wine Night Stand @ JZ Club
Monday is big band night at JZ. Have a glass of wine or two, and listen to jazzy tunes from the stage.

Francesco Clemente @ James Cohan Gallery Shanghai
The new exhibition focuses on acclaimed artist Francesco Clemente’s watercolor works. It’s the first exhibition in China, so don’t miss it while you have the chance (till 10 November). About the artist: “Francesco Clemente, born in 1952 in Naples, Italy, is widely recognized as a defining contemporary artist for the past four decades who has established an extraordinary, singular pictorial language that draws on timeless symbols, mythologies, cultures, and philosophies. The diversity of the artist’s chosen mediums—paintings, frescos, watercolors, pastels, collage, and gouache—and the themes and subject matter of his works have been deeply informed by Clemente’s nomadic artistic life.”
Free // 10am-6pm // 1/F Building 1, Lane 1, No. 170 Yueyang Lu (岳阳路170号)
Sub-Cinema presents “Humanoids From The Deep” @ DADA
As usual, you get in for free to watch a lost cinematic gem, and popcorn is on the house. This week Sub-Cinema brings you a monster flic from the 80’s: “Scientific experiments backfire and produce horrific mutations: halfman, halffish which terrorize a small fishing village by killing the men and raping the women.” (IMDb). Sounds like a cheesy trashfest best enjoyed with plenty bottle beer and Jägerbombs.
Free // Doors at 8pm, movie at 9pm // Dada // No. 115 Xingfu Lu, near Fahuazhen Lu (幸福路115号, 近法华镇路)
The Night Market @ DADA
Night markets belong to the lifestyle in many Asian cities (minus Shanghai), so we’re happy to see someone picking up that tradition. The experience at Dada might be slightly different: No fried bugs and freshly gutted snakes, no pets and brand knockoffs, but you can browse the mini shops of local indipendent designers, while snacking, drinking and listening to music. And that’s pretty cool, too.
Free // 8pm // Dada // No. 115 Xingfu Lu, near Fahuazhen Lu (幸福路115号, 近法华镇路)
ZOMBIE NATION @ IBIZA
One of the latest additions to the Shanghai Nightlife and one of the scarce noteworthy venues north of West Nanjing Road is Club Ibiza. One might get the impression that the masterminds behind Ibiza weren’t determined whether they wanted this to be a Chinese or western style venue. The result is a pleasing mix of table maze and deserves-the-name dancefloor, topped with cool big projections on the wall. The musical lineup also does not disappoint and pays tribute to the bold name with German star DJ Zombie Nation rocking the house this Thursday. Expect techno, electro and Zombie Nation’s signature live arrangements of his works.
100RMB incl. 1 drink // 1/F, No. 428 Jiangning Lu, near Wuding Lu (江宁路428号1F, 近武定路)
The Mixologist Night @ MUSE on the Bund
Not to cause any confusion here: the recently moved to posher neighbourhood original Muse does not claim to have the greatest mixers behind the DJ pult, but behind the bar, and brags with the best cocktail night in town. Let’s find out!
Muse // 5/F, No. 99 Beijing Dong Lu, near Yuan Ming Yuan Lu (北京东路99号5楼， 近圆明园路)
