On the docket this week: German electro superstars Booka Shade take over MUSE Mixing Room that has totally nothing to do with the ubiquitious nightclub chain, the Russian State Ballet performs the alltime classic Swan Lake, and MAO Livehouse Shanghai already turns 3! Mercedes-Benz International Music Festival 2012: Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra Concert @ Shanghai Oriental Art Center
The Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra came to fame not only for interpretations of classic pieces, but motion picture scores for classics like ‘Ben Hur’, and even won a Grammy for the title theme of Disney’s ‘The Beauty and the Beast’. Conductor Alexander Shelley and solo violinist Erik Schumann.

Pet Conspiracy (宠物同谋) @ MAO Livehouse
Pet Conspiracy are without doubt one of the most well-known and exciting acts in the Chinese indie music scene. The Beijing band survived several lineup changes and now consists of founding members Huzi and Yun Yun and the Italians EDO and Mary. Russian State Ballet: Swan Lake @ Shanghai Oriental Art Center
Swan Lake is one of the most famous ballets, based on the music of Tchaikovsky, that recently made it into a highly acclaimed, nightmarish Hollywood adaption with Nathalie Portman taking over the lead role of swan princess Odette. Performed by the famous Russian State Ballet Theatre, which has been praised “The Best Ballet Company of the Year” by the Association of the West-European Impresario. Shows on Sunday and Monday at the opera hall.
