Students at the Nanjing University of Arts thought it would be a cool project to make a Resident Evil fan film set on campus. Replete with dummy body parts, fake weapons and zombie make-up, the students set about recreating famous scenes from the games and films. Until that is, the security guard showed up.
Despite the fact that they would be running around with (pretend) guns covered in (pretend) gore, none of the students had thought to warn security staff of their plan. Patrolling the fourth floor at 9.30pm, a security guard came across a dismembered hand, looking around he saw other body parts and walls smeared with blood. This naturally scared the shit out of the old man and, hearing gunshots, he high-tailed it down to the ground floor where he shut down the building’s lifts and alerted the police that there were “terrorists” on campus.
Armed police rushed to the scene to save the day, but instead of dangerous murderers they just found a group of confused and slightly pissed-off art students.
The police and school authorities let the students off with a warning and told them in future to let campus security know if they’re going to be shooting guns and scattering body parts all over the school.
