Need some human eggs to go with that black market sperm? Well a company in Shenzhen can hook you up for the low low price of 200,000 RMB. Alternatively, if you’re a young woman with superfluous eggs, you can sell them for as much as 50,000 RMB.
An illegal human egg trading ring has been raided in Shenzhen after authorities became aware that it was operating out of an abandoned nursing facility decked out with modern medical equipment worth over 10 million RMB, according to the Southern Metropolis Daily.
Unlicensed doctors collected eggs, fertilized them and transplanted them into women customers with fertility problems, the report said.
Young women selling their eggs could earn 20,000 yuan to 50,000 yuan. There were standards for egg “donors,” such as being a university graduate, born after 1985, good-looking, taller than 1.65 meters and in good health. Candidates who met the largest number of the requirements were paid up to 50,000 yuan for each egg, the newspaper said.
Once chosen, the young women went through surgery to stimulate their ovulation and doctors would collect eggs during the process.
The sale of human eggs is illegal in China, it’s also not a great idea to let an unlicensed doctor poke around in your innards.
