Portrait: Urna & Her Friends @ On Stage
Berlin-based Mongolian singer Urna Charhar-Tugchi comes to China to promote her new album “Portrait” and will share the stage with the 80-year old Iranian Zarb master Djamchid Chemirani and the most important Hungarian contemporary violinist Zoltan Lantos. The soul singer’s voice boasts a range of four octaves, reminiscent of he unlimited landscapes of her origin.

FRIDAY
4 Great Bands: feat. Hello Money @ Yuyintang
As the name suggests, four great bands are to rock it out at Yuyintang this Friday night – accoustic mashup kings Hello Money play their first headline show at YYT with support from Tinderbox, Banana Monkey and newcomers Xiao Xin Yi Yi (小心翼翼). And don’t confuse their acoustic mashup with the acoustic rape attempts at some of the clubs in town: Hello Money simply pick from genres like rock, reggae, funk and hip hop, and execute the music with their appropriate weapons of choice, which include guitars, bongos, drums, bass, ukelele and even violin. The Taiwan Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the following programme:
Romeo and Juliet overture-fantasy (Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky)
Violin Concerto, op.82, A minor (Alexander Glazunov)
Symphony No.9 “From the New World” (Antonin Dvorak)
Taiwanese master conductor Shao-Chia Lü leads the orchestra with soli violinist Joseph Lin.

Streeton Trio @ SOAC (Performance Hall)
The Streeton Trio consists of three emerging Australian talents Benjamin Kopp (piano), Emma Jardine (violin) and Martin Smith (cello). Since the founding in 2008, they have won various awards and released a first CD last year. The musicians are currently based in Geneva, Switzerland, and members of the famous European Chamber Music Academy.
