Disco dandies, disco hipsters, disco trash! A lot of mid-tempo disco tunes this weekend at 390 and Lola. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Your taste decides. Ibiza hosts James Zabiela this Friday, who definitely deserves some attention. And on Sunday, you can try to be funny. Succeed and win the hearts of the curious audience at Brownstone, or fail and earn the guffawing of the crowd. Just kidding, should be fun. And if that’s still not enough, head over to our calendar for more.
James Zabiela @ IBIZA
James Zabiela stands for breakbeat infused tech house, reduced to all what matters to get you hooked on the tunes: catchy rhythm and electrifying effects. If that disco ding dang dong this weekend is not your cup of tea, this guy might be your winner. He knows what he’s doing on the turntables.

Sunday Screening Club: A Single Man @ The Geisha
Sunday Screen Club invites us all again for a free movie afternoon, this week with Tom Ford’s A Single Man. “Set in Los Angeles in 1962, A Single Man is the story of George Falconer, a British college professor (Colin Firth) who is struggling to find meaning in his life after the death of his long-time partner, Jim (Matthew Goode). We follow George through a single day, where a series of encounters, ultimately leads him to decide if there is a meaning to life after Jim.” What makes fashion designer Tom Ford’s Oscar-nominated picture so outstanding is not just the story that unfolds within only one day, but also the subtle and manipulative use of colours and chroma to support the feelings of the characters. In depressive moments, everything appears pale, and a smile on a characters face suddenly makes the colours brighten.
Free // 3:30pm (movie starts at 4pm) // The Geisha // No. 390 Shanxi Nan Lu, near Fuxing Lu (陕西南路390号， 近复兴路)
