As China’s new leadership turns its attention to dealing with widespread corruption, CCP authorities in Chongqing are starting to clear up the mess left in the wake of Bo Xilai‘s fall from grace and to right the wrongs he left behind.
Since the massive media storm surrounding the demise of Bo, his policeman sidekick Wang Lijun and murderess second wife Gu Kailai has calmed down, hundreds of police officers who had been dismissed, demoted or otherwise punished are being quietly reinstated, according to the Southern Weekend.
Most notable is the release of Li Zhuang, an ex-lawyer who claims he was framed and wrongfully jailed for 18 months on charges of inducing his client to lie in court. Li has since filed a petition for wrongful imprisonment in order to clear his name.
