We reported in October that North Korean dictator and giant baby Kim Jong-un may have put a smaller sized baby in his young, glamorous (by North Korean standards) wife. The world’s media seems to have caught up with the story after new photos of Ri Sol Ju caused speculation that she might indeed be pregnant (because she fat).
Ri was shown on North Korean television attending a memorial service with her husband for to mark the anniversary of late dictator Kim Jong-il’s death. Rather than her usual designer gear, Ri wore a
black sheet traditional Korean funeral dress. Keen-eyed South Korean reporters allege that under the high-waisted, loose-fit dress is a “visibly swollen belly”.
Ri appeared to be in the late stages of pregnancy” according to the Yonhap news agency. The Chosun Ilbo newspaper predicted that birth “was not far away”.
North Korea watchers have previously alleged that the couple have been married since 2009 and already have one child, though this has never been confirmed. Ri’s existence and status was only confirmed in July this year in a terse statement by North Korean state media.
Considering the success of his rocket at shooting its cargo into the desired area, and the launch of the Unha-3, 2012 has been a pretty good year for Kim Jong-un (but not for North Korea, which continues to be an awful hellhole).
