Shanghai certainly wasn’t sleeping on Saturday night, when pillows were put to better use at Shanghai’s 2012 Super Pillow Fight. Marketed at the stressed out white collar crowd, the mass party attracted about 200 people including students who took out all their stress in a 10 minute whirl of feathers and frustration.
The now annual pillow fight has been running for 6 years and features a rock and roll band, a DJ and Santa dolling out presents and prizes. It is organised by Yeguanjia, Shanghai’s biggest nightclub and party booking company. A similar pillow fight is also organised in Beijing.
Pillow fighting was not only touted as a way to blow off steam after a hard year but also as the best way to hit on someone, end an awkward moment, relieve anxiety, show your love or to cry freedom!
If you missed it you’ll have to wait another year for the next one, plenty of time to hone your technique.
