Nothing is scarier than a jealous, crazy woman. A woman in Xiayi, Henan province, was arrested for illegally entering a home and attempting to kill her ex-husband’s new wife via corrosive injection. A number of people believed to be the woman’s accomplices were also arrested.
According to media reports, Guo Jiefang divorced Liu Fang (pseudonym) in March this year and married current wife Zhang Erli in November.
On the couple’s nineteenth day of marriage, Liu broke into Guo’s home with a few other people at around 11pm. Guo was at work during that time, leaving only Zhang and her 70-year-old grandma asleep at home. The intruders tied Zhang to her bed and beat her. One of them then injected corrosive liquid into her abdomen, and they left swiftly after that.
Zhang suffered serious pain and was sent to hospital the next morning. Guo Yanxi, her father-in-law who accompanied her to the hospital, was told her intestines had already eroded and her chance of survival was slim. He believed the corrosive liquid was sulfuric acid, which left a hole on her clothes.
Guo Jiefang arrived at the hospital after work. The doctor advised that Zhang had to be transferred to a larger hospital in Shanghai or Beijing to undergo intestinal transplantation, which would cost about 400,000 yuan.
Although this was an unaffordable sum to the family, Guo said he would not give up hope and would try his best to save her life.
