Earlier today, protestors in Guangzhou gathered outside the headquarters of the media group that owns the Southern Weekend, the newspaper whose editors went on strike yesterday over state interference into a recent editorial.
Many of those protesting carried chrysanthemum flowers – the traditional Chinese flower of mourning – and held up placards that called for greater press freedoms.
