Oh the weather outside is frightful. An historic cold snap, in which temperatures have dropped to the lowest national average in 28 years, -3.8C (25F), has gripped China.
It doesn’t show signs of stopping. In the past ten weeks, the average price of vegetables has jumped by 55 percent, after many crops were lost due to the extreme cold.
When we finally kiss goodnight, how I’ll hate going out in the storm. Temperatures in parts of northern China have dropped to -28.1C (-18.7F), a 42 year low.
The fire is slowly dying. Snow and ice have led to flight cancellations, highway closures, stranded tourists, and knocked out power in several provinces. Over 180,000 cattle have died due to the extreme temperatures.
Let it snow?
