A woman who was reported to have bought 41 properties in Beijing using a fake identity was arrested and detained in Shanxi on Monday on allegations of corruption and abuse of power, CCTV reports.
Gong Aiai, 49, the former deputy head of a bank in the northern province of Shanxi, Shenmu city was reported last month to have purchased 41 properties totalling over 9,000 square metres. Gong was dubbed “house sister” by Chinese netizens. The illegitimate property mogul has been on the run since January 17.
Shenmu police said they charged Gong with faking official documents and government stamps.
Beijing police arrested seven people, including four police officers, who were involved in Gong’s fake household registration ring, according to the Ministry of Public Security.
