Mindful eating: Between inhaling Krakatoa-esque firework fumes and eating so many Valentine’s sweets your blood now has the consistency of Laffy Taffy, you’ve had one unhealthy February. Detoxify by attending the mindful eating workshop and dinner at Sprout on February 27, and learn about portion control and eating food that both satisfies and keeps you trim. RSVP to
200RMB // Sprout // Surpass Court, G/Floor, unit 412#, 570 Yongjia Lu, near Yueyang Lu (永嘉路570号底楼412室, 近岳阳路).
Healthy Food Swaps Talk: And while you’re on the health kick, hit up the healthy food swaps talk (also at Sprout) on February 27. Coach Chiara Squinzi teaches us about swapping junk food for both healthy and scrumptious snacks, samples of which are offered at the event. (Though if you wanna really give up junk food, and eating ever again for that matter, take one look at this latest abomination from Pizza Hut China). RSVP to [email protected]

Qianlong Food back in business!: After almost a year-long hiatus, Qianlong, one of our fave Shanghai hotspots on Huanghe Lu, has reopened with a new and improved menu and expanded live seafood section. Choose from spiny lobsters, flounder, grouper, abalone and other glimmeringly fresh critters and have them prepped any way you like. If you’re not craving sea fare, the roast squab and any of the braised pork dishes are also killer.
