In a story bordering on absurdity, the Nanfang reports that a live bomb was found inside a squid at a Guangdong fish market on Sunday.
At a market in Jiaoling County, a seller was gutting a squid when he spotted “a hard object inside” and ended up pulling out a bomb about 20cm long and weighing about 1.5kg according to the Guangzhou Daily.
Local police “later confirmed it was an active bomb and carried out a controlled explosion.”
The seller, Mr. Huang, purported that the squid – which was over a metre long – had mistaken the bomb for a fish and eaten it.
How long before conspiracy theorists tie together recent allegations of cyber warfare, accusations that a former NASA contractor gave sensitive information to China, and this squid bomb and come to the obvious conclusion that China is training a shoal of cybernetic squid bombs designed to destroy US infrastructure ahead of an invasion by Chinese forces.
