The cowards at China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently published article about Facebook which states that the social network is only banned in four countries ‘North Korea, Cuba, Iran and another country‘ (emphasis added).
As Amy Li says at the SCMP, if you block Facebook “then at least have the guts to admit it.”
The article, published on the Ministry’s official website, opens like so:
Myanmar recently unblocked the popular social networking site Facebook, which means only four countries in the world still ban the website: North Korea, Cuba, Iran and another country.
Perhaps China is embarrassed by the company its keeping (it should be) when it comes to restricting citizens’ online activity.
One imagines that the notoriously proud architects of the Great Firewall won’t be too happy that their signature creation is on the receiving end of such a back handed insult from the country’s government.
