A primary school teacher in Foshan, Guangdong province, has been forced to apologise to students and parents after he sent out a mass text message to parents calling students “garbage”.
The English teacher, surnamed Lin, from Foshan City in Guangdong Province sent a group message to 80 parents on Tuesday, naming and shaming seven students who got low scores in a quiz.
He criticized two students in particular as “extremely rubbish” for failing to get the average score of 60 and blamed them for pulling the class grades down with them.
The text message, sent to parents of students at Ronggui Siji Primary School in Shunde District, was shared on Weibo on Wednesday and quickly went viral.
One netizen said Lin “belonged in the trash bin. Where does this rubbish teacher come from?”
Another said “He probably did not get his bonus because of the poor grades and therefore insulted them. If he had put in more effort on teaching them, the students would probably fared better.”
Lin has since said he is sorry for his actions, he reportedly phoned the parents of seven students to apologise in person.
Amazingly, this isn’t the first time a teacher has sent texts to parents insulting their children. A Zhejiang school sent out a mass text to the parents of 600 hundred children reading “Your child is a stupid cunt”.
