Hong Kong singer and actress Sita Chan Hei-yi died on Wednesday morning after crashing her car in Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon.
Chan, 26, reportedly lost control of her car on the Hoi Po Road flyover, hitting a kerb before crashing in a central divider. The singer was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital but died shortly after after 4am, according to police.
Chan won best new female artist at the Ultimate Song Chart Awards in 2011. She was signed to Sun Entertainment Culture headed by entertainment mogul Paco Wong where she recorded two albums. Other artists on the Sun roster include Fiona Sit Hoi-kei and Singaporean-born musician Hanjin.
Chan had minor roles in films Lan Kwai Fong 2 and Love in Time.
