A college student in Hebei has claimed that students were forced to donate sperm to a sperm bank, according to the South China Morning Post.
The student, surnamed Jiang, blogged about the trip he took to a sperm bank with his teacher and fellow students from Shijiazhuang People’s Medical College.
The teacher apparently told the students:
“I am already pretty nice to you guys. Once you go there, I leave it entirely to you on whether to donate or not, but students in other classes have no choice.”
The sperm bank, which bears the very prosaic name Hebei Human Sperm Bank, denies the claim, stating that the students were there “to participate in a volunteer research project on sperm quality” and that all students were free to decide for themselves whether to participate in the study.
Once again, what we have here are conflicting reports on whether or not someone was “forced” to do something. It may be that from the college and the sperm bank’s perspective, the students were not forced. But when someone in a position of authority puts pressure on you to do something, you may well feel like you don’t have much of a choice to do anything but masturbate into a cup.
