If you’ve been stirred by his rhetoric, you’ll be blown away by his prose. Everyone’s favorite block of wood with a hairpiece, former president Hu Jintao, is the main voice of a new book published by the CCCPC Party Literature Research Office, which hit shelves on Thursday.
The document contains “a total length of 130,000 characters,” and focuses on Hu’s exciting concept of a harmonious socialist society with a scientific outlook on development. Its author, now succeeded by Xi Jinping, presided over China with the personal charm of a heap of paperclips.
Xinhua, of course, is really excited for this new anthology of Hu’s catchphrases and speeches:
Some of the articles are published for the first time.
It features Hu’s speech at a national conference on prevention and control of SARS epidemic on July 28, 2003 as the opener, and concludes with his remarks on strengthening social construction in his report delivered at the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) National Congress.
Building a harmonious socialist society is a major task with strategic significance raised by the CPC in a new development stage for the nation, in view of the larger objectives of realizing socialism with Chinese characteristics and a moderately wealthy society in a balanced manner.
Hu has expounded the significance, guiding principles, objectives and implementation plans of achieving these goals, enriching the Marxist theory on the construction of socialism.
Published for the first time! Hu fans (all three of them) are surely overwhelmed with excitement to read the words of the man who pissed away China’s golden decade. Personally, this author is waiting for Hu’s sexy tell-all about romance behind the gates of the National People’s Conference.
