International Worker’s Day was going so well for 24 holidaymakers in Fenghuang, Hunan province, until a bamboo suspension bridge tilted sending them plunging, Takeshi’s Castle-style, into the water below.
The AP reports:
About 40 tourists were returning from a bonfire party in Fenghuang in central Hunan province on Wednesday evening when a loaded pile broke, causing the bridge floor to tilt, according to the Fenghuang county government.
It said in a statement on Thursday that 24 people plunged into the water below.
All the tourists were fished out of the river unharmed (except for their dignity #LOL #embarrassing #iwouldjustdie).
