As we reported this morning, the Ministry of Public Security has announced that rat, fox, and mink meat may have been sold as lamb in Shanghai and Jiangsu four the last four years. Unsurprisingly this story blew up on Weibo, as did, distressingly, some stomach-turning images of rats and purported rat meat.
This image, first uploaded by Shanghai police authorities, has been circulated widely, it shows consumers how to differentiate rat/fox/mink-meat lamb from real lamb (to those still buying lamb after this news I doff my hat):
