Bubba’s 3rd Annual BBQ Cook-off @ Bubba’s on the Beach
Amateur and professional chefs from all over Shanghai are invited to show off their grilling skills in categories from chicken and ribs, to pulled meats, beef, and sausage. For those unwilling to cook, turn up, pay 100 yuan and eat the food. There’s also music and beer.

It’s Mother’s Day (in China, America, and a bunch of other countries – if you’re from Ireland or the UK, you’re good) and there are a bunch of events to celebrate the fact that your mothers are on the other side of the world (where they belong).
Mother’s Day at Morton’s
Morton’s of Chicago is serving a special set price three-course menu for Mother’s Day. The first course is a choice of either Caesar Salad with Classic Dressing or Morton’s Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing, Chopped Egg and Anchovies followed by a selection of entrees including Single Cut Filet Mignon served with Béarnaise sauce, Filet Oscar served with asparagus, jumbo lump crab and Béarnaise sauce, Broiled Salmon Filet with Beurre Blanc sauce, Colossal Shrimp Alexander with Beurre Blanc sauce or Chicken Christopher with Beurre Blanc sauce. All entrees are accompanied by one signature potato or vegetable side dish. Complete the meal with dessert: Crème Brulee or Double Chocolate Mousse.
The menu is available from 5pm – 10pm on Sunday 11th May only and is priced at RMB808* per person in Shanghai.
Issimo’s Mama Mia Sunday Brunch
Mothers will be treated to a complimentary leisurely Italian Brunch (with a minimum of three persons) including a buffet of the Chef’s favorite appetizers: Grilled bread with smoked salmon, yogurt and chives, grilled vegetables, red octopus salad, and more. Then choose a main with options such as the Poached egg dish, Oven baked lasagna, Eggs Fritatta or Poached Sea Bass.
