A truck driver in Anhui province, sick of paying exorbitant toll fees, painted his vehicle in camouflage and fitted fake military license plates, seeking to take advantage of the People’s Liberation Army‘s exemption from tolls.
The ploy didn’t work however, after a suspicious tollway attendant called the police. According to the Anhui News, the driver tried to bluff police officers, saying that he was on a “secret mission” transporting missiles and they should stay out of it, but this story fell apart when one of the cops rang Chuzhou City Military Garrison Command.
Impersonating a member of the armed forces (as the ‘sexy PLA colonel’ found out) is not something the authorities take lightly. The driver reportedly faces several years in prison if convicted.
