Newborn baby flushed down toilet in Zhejiang province (Warning: Graphic content)

A newborn baby was rescued from a sewage pipe in an apartment building in Jinhua, Zhejiang province this weekend. The 2.3 kg baby boy was discovered after residents of the apartment heard crying from a squat toilet on the fourth floor of the building.

Firefighters were able to save the baby’s life by removing the a section of the sewage pipe where the baby was trapped from beneath the toilet. They subsequently brought the pipe to a local hospital where medical staff carefully cut it open to free the baby. Doctors report that he suffered some cuts and bruises but is now in stable condition.

The perpetrators responsible for this atrocious act have not been caught yet and are wanted for attempted murder. Police are looking for the parents, but as of yet no one has come forward.

This incident has sparked outrage among netizens who were extremely disgusted by this story. When news of this baby was revealed, Weibo users expressed deep anger towards the person who committed this crime, but also showed gratitude that baby was able to make a recovery.
