In honour of this weekend’s International Children’s Day, we’ve got two stories of two very different teachers – one good, one bad – for you.
According to the People’s Daily, a teacher surnamed Sun is suspected of cutting seven kindergarden students’ arms with scissors to discipline them for not sitting up straight. Sun was employed at a private kindergarten in Jiading district.
One child needed two stitches to treat the wound inflicted by the teacher.
With that depressing story, and others about abusive teachers, it’s nice to have a reminder that not everything is terrible.
According to Shenzhen Satellite Television, a primary school teacher in Shenzhen saw a student about to be hit by a car and pushed him out of the way. The teacher’s leg was run over and she is recuperating in hospital.
The teacher, Zhang Xufen, received an award of 10,000 yuan for her brave act.
