More bad behavior from Chinese tourists! This one didn’t even wait for the plane to land.
A Chinese tourist was deported by the Philippines after his alleged bullying of a Philippine Airlines flight attendant, according to the SCMP.
Liu Biqing, 47, was on a flight from Shanghai to Manila when he asked a flight attendant for a hot towel. Apparently said attendant didn’t move fast enough, as Liu grew impatient and “barged into the galley and grabbed one hot towel”. Liu then flicked the towel towards flight attendant Josef Randall Tolentino’s face, spattering the attendant with water.
Another flight attendant Cathy Guinto said that after the very manly towel-flicking, Liu “maintained his rude and arrogant demeanor” and was yelling in anger at the flight attendant. The airline crew filed a complaint with the immigration office and Liu was immediately deported back to China.
Tolentino commented, “Let this small act and incident show the people of China that they cannot mistreat Filipinos and get away with it.”
We think Philippine Airlines can take a page out of the Hong Kong Airlines handbook. Hong Kong Airlines flight attendants have had compulsory Wing Chun training since May 2011, after a series of violent passengers incidents.
