A new website currently going viral in Taiwan allows users to peruse the various uniforms worn by girls (only girls) across the island (and some schools on the mainland, because creepiness knows no borders).
While many photos appear to have been taken from social media, some of the photo subjects, as Rocket News 24 leeringly notes, “look like models” dressed up as schoolgirls. Of course, even if all the photos were so obviously posed the site would still be pretty creepy. However, just like Reddit’s thankfully now defunct /r/jailbait and /r/creepshots forums, the sharing of photos of underage girls without their consent for creeps on the internet to ogle is highly unethical and gross (and potentially illegal).
Weirdly enough, the map is hosted on a wholly normal and uncreepy meteorological website owned by Network Information Co Ltd Fang, a company based in Taipei. The company also owns earthquake tracking website East Japan Earthquake Network Centre. Perhaps, like so many meteorologists and seismologists before him, the creator of the Taiwan schoolgirl map grew tired of using his powers for good and turned to evil.
