A Hunan couple were outraged when they found a sticker on their newborn baby reading “Don’t touch me. I’m a sack of shit”, Xinhua reports.
Xinhua’s headline states that the baby was “humiliated” by the sticker, which suggests a remarkable amount of awareness and self-consciousness for a newborn infant.
The baby’s mother, surnamed Tang, found the sticker when she visited her son on Thursday at the Yueyang Maternal and Child Health Centre. When she confronted hospital staff they claimed the sticker had accidentally fallen on the baby after two nurses were playing around sticking it on each other (sounds like a fun place to work!), the nurses have been asked to apologise.
Tang questioned this account however, pointing to an ongoing dispute between the child’s parents and the hospital, who the couple blame for causing the baby to become ill with a botched injection shortly after birth.
In December 2012, a school in Zhejiang sent a mass text to parents which read: “this student is basically a stupid piece of shit”.
