After introducing the idea in 2011, Hong Kong Airlines will now be training all its staff members in Wing Chun kung fu to help cultivate a ‘strong mind and improve their body quality,’ and not provide them a means of dealing with air rage caused by bat shit crazy passengers frequenting China’s airlines, the company stressed on its microblog.
According to People’s Daily, “Wing Chun is a kung fu style that appeals to people of any age, gender, body type and physical condition and is very suitable for short range punches. It is a traditional Chinese martial art that was developed in order to provide full autonomy and safety in full contact sparing and is one of the best practical and realistic combat systems for self defense.”
The training, according to the airline company, is aimed to help flight attendants provide better customer service to passengers.
Kick-ass customer service, even.
