A 77 year old man was hospitalised after he collapsed from heatstroke in Ningbo, Zhejiang province. The man was ‘cooked’ by the extreme temperatures, iFeng reports.
The man, surnamed Yu, collapsed around midday on July 31. He was found lying on the ground by a passerby who called for help. An observer described Yu as being cooked like “teppanyaki”.
Yu suffered deep second degree burns across 20 percent, and third degree burns across two percent of his body, some serious enough to turn his skin black. He is now under observation at People’s Liberation Army No 113 Hospital.
Shanghai too has been hit by extreme temperatures in the past week, August 7 was the “hottest day in history” with an average of 40.8 degrees celsius, beating the previous hottest day set on July 27 by 0.2 degrees.
