Former B2K singer Raz-B — née De’Mario Thorton — is currently in a coma after he was hit in the face with a glass bottle in a Zhejiang nightclub, TMZ reports.
Thorton’s rep told TMZ that the singer attempted to break up a fight during a performance at an unnamed Zhejiang nightclub when he was hit in the face with a bottle.
Cops quickly released Raz after determining he did nothing wrong. Raz’s rep says cops made the bottle thrower fork over roughly $5,000 to pay for Raz’s medical expenses.
After the drama at the police station, Raz was finally taken to a hospital, where he underwent a 1-hour surgical procedure to repair the “hole” in his lip. The wound also required 4 stitches.
The R&B singer’s injuries appeared to be minor, but the following morning Thorton failed to wake up and was rushed to hospital. He has remained on life-support ever since, reportedly slipping in and out of consciousness.
Thorton has been living in China for the past three years though was planning a move back to the US before the year’s end to launch his “big comeback”.
