A man was arrested after sexually assaulting two underage girls at a swimming pool in Baoshan district, Shanghai Daily reports.
It’s difficult to tell which of the three “excuses” given by the man, surnamed Lu, for his behaviour is the most appalling/unbelievable:
That he assaulted the girls because he was “unhappy with his married life”. That he “got the idea of touching females in swimming pools” from seeing reports of subway sexual assaults on TV. That he “couldn’t tell what age the girls were as he is short-sighted and wasn’t wearing his glasses”.
A million facepalms aren’t enough to express my disbelief that he thought any of those were good excuses, or even bad excuses, or even excuses in any given understanding of the term ‘excuses’.
If found guilty (and considering his defence, how could he not be?) Lu faces at least five years in prison.
