New regulations mean that men (or women) who miss the target when using public toilets in Shenzhen can be fined 100 yuan, Beijing News reports.
The regulation, which comes into force on September 1, will fine those who are deemed to have “failed to urinate accurately”, though it is not specified how off target an offender has to be for the fine to be levied.
Nor is it explained how the fine will be enforced. Will there be chengguan stationed in every public toilet in the city to ensure that citizens piss in the correct manner?
A city official told the AFP that the regulation was intended to curb “uncouth use of public toilets”.
