Fighting cancer by gorging on copious Italian food and Prosecco may seem paradoxical, but you can make it happen by attending the bi-monthly charity dinner organized by nonprofit group, Chefs in the City. The way it works is every month and a half, Shanghai’s top Italian chefs meet at a different restaurant and craft five original dishes from top-flight ingredients for you to try. At the end of year, net proceeds will go to the Institute of Cancer.
Each event will start out with Prosecco, appetizers, and coffee cocktails from 6:30-7:30pm, to be followed by the special five-course dinner from 7:30-10pm. Sommeliers will be on hand to ensure you get the most out of your wine and food pairings. The chef lineup entails Giuseppe Tino of Favola at Le Royal Méridien Shanghai, Riccardo Messina of Acqua e Farina, Corrado Michelazzo of 10 Corso Como, Marco Busatti of Isola, and David Bassan of Bocca. This month’s dinner falls on September 19th at Acqua e Farina Italian Restaurant. So forget the 10 km cancer run, and come ready to pig out.
