A Sichuan man called Lin Bo received a 10 day administrative detention order on Saturday after throwing excrement at Zeng Wuxu, a street cleaner, Global Times reports.
Lin was shopping at a clothes shop with his family when his son — believed to be around three years old — needed to use the bathroom. Naturally, rather than find a bathroom, Lin let the kid poop on the street.
Zeng, the street cleaner, confronted Lin about this and the two began arguing.
Reportedly Zeng said she saw Lin’s son’s faeces on piece of paper on the street while the family continued shopping. When Zeng asked Lin to throw the faeces into a rubbish bin, Lin refused and said it was Zeng’s work because she was a cleaner and therefore responsible for cleaning it up. After Zeng asked Lin to show her some respect, Lin did the opposite, and threw his son’s faeces at her.
“When he wanted to throw it again, I hid behind an old person, and he didn’t dare throw [it]” Zeng said.
Lin’s wife blamed Zeng for starting the argument by saying something “unpleasant” (as unpleasant as having poop thrown at you?).
According to Chengdu Business Daily, Lin wrote a letter of apology to Zeng after the fact. He also made a “face-to-face apology” according to local police.
