A warehouse explosion in Guangzhou has killed at least four people and injured 36, and was started—somehow—when workers were unloading cargo into the factory. Reports are still incoming, but there is a general consensus that the explosion was accidental.
Global Times reports:
Rescuers have extinguished the fire and the injured were sent to hospital, according to a post from the city government Tuesday afternoon. The case is still under investigation.
The Guangzhou Daily reported that the local fire department has preliminary suspicions that the truck was loaded with dangerous cargo.
However the Nandu Daily reported that the warehouse is mainly used to store shoes. At least three warehouses were affected by the blast, with some doors and windows of other buildings being shattered.
The Guangzhou incident occured yesterday, in the wake of September 9th’s explosion in front of a Guilin school. Southern China has been hit by two mysterious explosions in two days, with a combined death toll of six.
